The difference between marketing and advertising is actually very simple. Even though people may confuse the two and what their used for quite often. One of the characters off of the television show Mad Man said it Best, “Advertising is about Happiness”. Which I completely agree with him, advertising is about getting new customers and keeping the old ones. Advertising is supposed to be pleasing for the customer, when marketing is more about planning how to get that point across. The best definition of marketing and advertising I could find was from this site: http://www.webpronews.com/topnews/2004/12/20/whats-the-difference-between-marketing-and-advertising. This article and definitions were written by the Marketing Basics team on web pro news.
Advertising: The paid, public, non-personal announcement of a persuasive message by an identified sponsor; the non- personal presentation or promotion by a firm of its products to its existing and potential customers.
Marketing: The systematic planning, implementation and control of a mix of business activities intended to bring together buyers and sellers for the mutually advantageous exchange or transfer of products.
As you can see there really is a big difference, however the both do go hand in hand. It’s almost like you can’t have one without the other. You can have a great marketing plan but if it doesn’t come together correctly to advertise good enough to get the customer base your going for then the marketing was pointless. Same goes for the advertising, you can advertise something all day long but if it doesn’t have the right marketing strategies behind it then it won’t succeed and won’t get your company the business or customer base you were trying to reach. It would be basically a waste, it would be like advertising coupons for Tiffany’s. It’s not needed for one but to market that, I think would be kind of hard.

Week 3 EOC
Should America have a strong dollar or a weak dollar? Why did you make this choice? What will happen or not happen?
Honestly, I’m still unsure exactly which one is best and I guess if I had to choose, I would choose neither. The reason why I didn’t choose the weak or strong dollar is because there are So many aspects in life and in the economy that has to be measured in order to decide whether the dollar is more beneficial weak or strong. Not only in America but also in other countries, whether or not they are in a recession or their trades are up and down. I will tell you what I believe will happen if we had a strong dollar in this economy and if we had a weak dollar in this economy. In the financial state America is in, having a Strong dollar would Not be beneficial. Only because financially America is in a bad position, but if we had a weak dollar in this financial state it might actually help our economy to get better. It is said that we are coming out of this recession and if we do, I think the strong dollar might just be a lot more efficient. I believe it fits our standards of living in America, only because we buy So many things in other foreign countries. We would be getting the Most for our money for sure. If we stay with a weak dollar and the economy continues to grow and we continue to get in a better financial state as a country. We will eventually start losing money, especially when it comes to trading and buying foreign goods. With all that being said, I guess both are beneficial in their own way, at certain points of time in life. Which goes back to analyzing other countries and their financial state as well?

Week 2 EOC
My best customer service experience had to be at Best Buy. It was my 18th birthday and I was going to party Hard! My friends and I hung out All day, drinking and doing girl stuff. I bought a camera from Best Buy and it matched my outfit. I planned to capture the Whole night on my new camera, however I didn’t realize I didn’t buy a memory card until 10 that night. Best Buy closes at 11, I walked up at 11:02 and there was No one left in the store. I begged at the door and even though it was only 4 people left in the store. They let me run in and get a memory card, Plus they gave me a Free candy bar as a birthday gift.
My worst experience of customer service would be Wal Mart. Their employees don’t know anything about the store or where anything is. I went in there looking for minced garlic because I was cooking for friends. I was just trying to run In and Out. I wind up being in Wal Mart looking for the same item for over 20 minutes and that’s with 3 different people helping me. I asked a guy when I first walked in and he told me it was on aisle 7, I walked the aisle twice. Just to make sure I didn’t miss anything and it wasn’t there. Then I asked a girl that was walking pass, not only did she not even stop to answer me or show me. She yelled, “Aisle 7, s she continued to walk by”. I thought something was wrong with my eyes, so I went back on the aisle and nothing. So I seen the first guy I asked and he tried to Not make eye contact with me When I tried to get his attention, he pretended Not to hear me and rushed to the back of the store. Finally, I asked another girl and she told me where they were and they actually were there… Gosh, that was So frustrating. I never go to Wal Mart unless it’s absolutely necessary.

week 1 EOC
Let me start by saying Fashion is my Life and I apply it to Every aspect of my life. I Breath, Eat, and Sleep Fashion, I truly believe it is a way of life. I can honestly say that is the First thing I ever fell in Love with, for me it was never about playing with the dolls but what they were wearing and where they were going. I want to show people that there’s a difference between having style, being fashionable, and simply following the new trends. Now some people often confuse Fashion and Style and Trend with being basically the same thing. Let me be the first to tell you that there is an extremely big difference between them, which people fail to realize. I plan on making a difference in the Fashion Industry, and in an extremely short amount of time. Not only because I’ve want it and I believe in myself, but also because I have the drive and ambition it takes for me to succeed in it. I believe without Fashion, our world would be dull and have no real meaning. I feel like fashion has a voice of its own and everyone who has a different style speaks about their Fashion sense without even knowing it. I believe fashion is a statement and every time you go out it speaks for you.
